The fact is, most people will suffer from a wart or verruca at least once in their life, usually before the age of 20. It is estimated that at any time, around one in ten people in the UK have a wart or verruca.
Warts and verrucas are a common problem for children especially, since they are very infectious and easily passed around. Public swimming pools are well-known verruca risk areas, since children walk around bare-foot, easily spreading the infection.
